Morning prayers 26th May 2020

We thank you God for the morning Light
We offer our praise to you
Open our hearts and our minds
To your Spirit
And give us your presence
In our life today

Song “Every praise is to our God”

Prayer for Gods help

Loving God
We often get it wrong
Send your Spirit
To work in us
Realign us
So that we may know
Your Spirit in our lives
Your joy, your peace, your shalom

The Lord’s Prayer in your own language

Reading Acts 9v15-19
15 But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. 16 I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”
17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized, 19 and after taking some food, he regained his strength.

Prayers
We pray for people and situations we are concerned about including the high deaths from Covid 19, our government, the lockdown easing in schools, key workers, the ongoing lack of PPE in hospitals, care homes and everywhere, and protection for BME people, care for those who are alone and those suffering with depression and ensuring food is reaching the vulnerable.

Ending with…May we not fail them Amen

Song “Spirit of the Living God”

Closing Responses

This is the day that God has made
We will rejoice and be glad in it
We will not offer to God
Offerings that cost us nothing
Go in Peace
To love and serve the Lord
Amen
