Reflection on John 10v11-30
Shepherds-There is a famous picture of Jesus carrying a sheep on his shoulders. A sheep weighs 20-80K. Cats usually weigh 10-15 pounds so a small sheep would be 44 lbs or twice the weight of your cat. The shepherd would have carried it across his shoulders. Good shepherd's care for their sheep and protect them from predators, like wolves.
Sheep are often enclosed in a field by a sheep gate. So the gate protects the sheep and controls what goes in and what goes out. Gates control space and are boundaries to activity. Gate keepers are important people like lock keepers and shepherds
Sheep and sheep dogs are trained to respond to the shepherd’s voice. A shout, a word, a whistle from the shepherd is a command to be obeyed.
Sheep are often thought of as stupid. They aren’t. They can remember 50 different faces for 2 years which is more than humans can. The reason we view them as stupid is because we eat them and don’t want to give them a personality other than as food. Sheep are faithful to one another, mourn loss and devoted to their shepherd. They will die without a good shepherd.
The most powerful image of Jesus is as the good shepherd with the lost sheep on his shoulders. Jesus the good shepherd has come to seek and save the lost sheep. And the most well known biblical text is the “Lords my Shepherd” Psalm 23. So it’s a very powerful image of God too.
Shepherds themselves need to eat, sleep and rest because they are potentially on call to rescue lost sheep and they need to be alert and wise to wolves (from where we get the expression a wolf in sheeps clothing).
Who in your life has been a good shepherd to you? Good shephers are priceless. A relative, a friend, a teacher, someone at church.
In our time there are many voices competing for our attention. There are often strident voices in times of economic austerity and recession, like Hitler. Which voices do you listen to?
We may lose the voice of the good shepherd and go astray from time to time and fall into danger, perhaps following a voice that sounds strong and smart and seductive, playing to our economic needs. We may follow a path that leads us away from Christ. Whose voice do we follow? What gate do we enter by? What gate do we lead others through? Good shepherds have integrity and want the best for us and lead us to water, refreshment, food, good grass and places of safety away from danger. They protect us and the vulnerable. . Especially the vulnerable and the lost. How do our leaders measure up to the image of the Good Shepherd? Do they feed us, water us and protect us from attack? Do they seek out the lost and vulnerable to bring them back into the fold? This is the measure. Don't go trusting any old shepherd!

好牧人的故事充满了意象
牧羊人——有一幅著名的图画，耶稣肩上扛着一只羊。一只羊重2万到8万磅。猫通常重10到15磅，所以一只小羊重44磅，是猫的两倍。牧羊人会把它扛在肩上。好牧人会照顾他们的羊，保护它们免受狼等掠食者的侵害。
羊群通常被羊门围在田野里。羊门保护着羊群，控制着羊群的进出。羊门控制着空间，是活动的边界。守门人与闸门管理员和牧羊人一样重要。
羊和牧羊犬都经过训练，能够对牧羊人的声音做出反应。牧羊人的一声呼喊、一句话、一声哨响，都是必须服从的命令。
人们常常认为羊很笨。其实不然。它们两年内能记住50张不同的面孔，这比人类的记忆力还要强。我们认为它们笨的原因是，我们吃它们，不想赋予它们除了作为食物之外的个性。羊彼此忠诚，为失去的羊哀悼，并忠于它们的牧羊人。如果没有好牧人，它们会死去。
耶稣最有力的形象是好牧人肩上扛着迷失的羊。好牧人耶稣来寻找并拯救迷失的羊。圣经中最著名的经文是诗篇23篇“耶和华我的牧者”。因此，这也是上帝非常有力的形象。
牧羊人本身也需要吃饭、睡觉和休息，因为他们随时可能被召唤去拯救迷失的羊，他们需要对狼保持警惕和智慧（披着羊皮的狼这个说法由此而来）。
在你的生命中，谁是你的好牧人？好牧人是无价的。亲戚、朋友、老师、教会里的人。
在我们这个时代，有许多声音在争夺我们的注意力。在经济紧缩和衰退时期，常常会出现像希特勒那样刺耳的声音。你听从的是哪些声音？
我们可能会失去好牧人的声音，不时误入歧途，陷入危险，或许会听从那些听起来强大、聪明、诱人的声音，迎合我们的经济需求。我们或许会走上一条远离基督的道路。我们听从谁的声音？我们从哪扇门进去？我们又带领别人走过哪扇门？好牧人正直正直，总是为我们着想，引领我们到水源、茶点、食物、肥沃的草地以及远离危险的安全之地。他们保护我们，也保护那些脆弱的人，尤其是那些脆弱和迷失的人。我们的领袖如何体现好牧人的形象？他们是否给我们食物、水，保护我们免受攻击？他们是否寻找迷失和脆弱的人，将他们带回羊圈？这才是衡量的标准。不要轻信任何老牧人！

داستان چوپان خوب تصاویر زیادی دارد
چوپانان - تصویر معروفی از عیسی وجود دارد که گوسفندی را بر دوش خود حمل میکند. وزن یک گوسفند ۲۰ تا ۸۰ کیلو است. وزن گربهها معمولاً ۱۰ تا ۱۵ پوند است، بنابراین یک گوسفند کوچک ۴۴ پوند یا دو برابر وزن گربه شما خواهد بود. چوپان آن را بر روی شانههای خود حمل میکرد. چوپان خوب از گوسفندان خود مراقبت میکند و آنها را از شکارچیانی مانند گرگ محافظت میکند.

ممکن است صدای شبان خوب را از دست بدهیم و هر از گاهی گمراه شویم و در خطر بیفتیم، شاید صدایی را دنبال کنیم که قوی، هوشمندانه و اغواکننده به نظر میرسد و با نیازهای اقتصادی ما بازی میکند. ممکن است مسیری را دنبال کنیم که ما را از مسیح دور کند. صدای چه کسی را دنبال میکنیم؟ از چه دروازهای وارد میشویم؟ دیگران را از چه دروازهای هدایت میکنیم؟ چوپانان خوب، درستکار هستند و بهترینها را برای ما میخواهند و ما را به آب، طراوت، غذا، علف خوب و مکانهای امن و دور از خطر هدایت میکنند. آنها از ما و افراد آسیبپذیر محافظت میکنند. به خصوص افراد آسیبپذیر و گمشده. رهبران ما چگونه میتوانند با تصویر چوپان خوب مطابقت داشته باشند؟ آیا آنها به ما غذا میدهند، ما را سیراب میکنند و از ما در برابر حمله محافظت میکنند؟ آیا آنها به دنبال گمشدگان و آسیبپذیرها هستند تا آنها را به گله برگردانند؟ این معیار است. به هیچ چوپان پیری اعتماد نکنید!
