Reading Romans 13v11
Another reason for right living is this: you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for the coming of the Lord is nearer now than when we first believed. 12-13 The night is far gone, the day of his return[a] will soon be here. So quit the evil deeds of darkness and put on the armor of right living, as we who live in the daylight should! Be decent and true in everything you do so that all can approve your behavior. Don’t spend your time in wild parties and getting drunk or in adultery and lust or fighting or jealousy. 14 But ask the Lord Jesus Christ to help you live as you should, and don’t make plans to enjoy evil.
Our Prayers
We pray for people and situations that are on our hearts today, including the ongoing lockdown, those with Covid 19, those going to school, the shooting of black people in the US, the chaotic weather, desperate people crossing the sea in dinghies, continuing deaths from Covid 19, Belarus, arrests in Hong Kong and the ongoing wars in Syria and Yemen, Russian democracy, the rise of fascism, the government, the Rohinga Muslims, Muslims being persecuted in China, protection for key workers and adequate PPE, protection for Black and Asian people, for people on low or no incomes, for those with underlying health conditions and those over 60, care for those who are alone and those suffering with depression, protection for asylum seekers and refugees and ensuring that food is reaching the vulnerable…and global warming.
May we not fail you though we face great dangers Give us your peace, your wisdom and your strength. Amen
