Prayers 3/4th June 2021,

I call on the clarity of God

To meet me in my confusion

I call on the mercy of God

To meet me in my brokenness

God in our meeting

God in our parting

As I come before your throne

Bow down before you

May my prayers rise up to you

And your blessings rain down upon me

Come Holy Spirit, dry bones awaken

The Lord’s Prayer in our own language

Psalm 31

Be gracious to me, Lord, for I am in distress;
My eye is wasted away from grief, my soul and my body too.
10 For my life is spent with sorrow

And my years with sighing;
My strength has failed because of my guilt,
And my body has wasted away.
11 Because of all my adversaries, I have become a disgrace,
Especially to my neighbours,
And an object of dread to my acquaintances;
Those who see me in the street flee from me.
12 I am forgotten like a dead person, out of mind;
I am like a broken vessel.
13 For I have heard the slander of many,
Terror is on every side;
While they took counsel together against me,
They schemed to take away my life.

You have set my feet in a large place.

We pray for all those we carry in our hearts.

For war and discord in Israel, Palestine, Columbia, India, Brazil, Russia, Ukraine, Yemen, Myanmar, the Rohingyas, the Uyghurs, Hong Kong, Nigeria, Belarus, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Syria, Iran, the US, Afghanistan, our own country, doctors and nurses, carers, teachers, those confronting injustice, and pressing issues of climate change, for the many refugees, our families and friends and ourselves…Spirit of the Living God present with us now enter our bodies, minds and spirits and heal us of all that harms us. Let your angels be beside us at this time. In Jesus Name we pray.

Song “Lord from sorrows deep I call”

Put fire in my heart

And sends me your Spirit

Renew my hopes and dreams

Remind me that a new way is always possible

In life, in death and beyond death

God is always with us.

There is always hope.

Amen.
