Creator God I come before you
And seek your peace
Let me be still in your presence
The Holy One who is here
Song “Psalm 91”
As I come before your throne
Bow down before you
May my prayers rise up to you
And your blessings rain down upon me
The Lord’s Prayer in our own language
Job 38
“Who is this who darkens the divine plan
By words without knowledge?
3 Now tighten the belt on your waist like a man,
And I shall ask you, and you inform Me!
4 Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?
Tell Me, if you have understanding,
5 Who set its measurements? Since you know.
Or who stretched the measuring line over it?
6 On what were its bases sunk?
Or who laid its cornerstone,
7 When the morning stars sang together
And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
We pray for people and situations we are concerned about; for those living with war and conflict, Ukraine, Russia, Yemen, Palestine, Myanmar, Rohingyas, Uighurs, Hong Kong, Belarus, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Syria, Iran, for our own country, for those facing climate change disasters, for those with Covid, for doctors and nurses, carers, for refugees and those who are homeless.
May God’s hand be upon us, your angels protect us and the Spirit work in and around us. Amen
Song “Forgiven”
This is the day that God has made
I will rejoice and be glad in it
I will not offer to God
Offerings that cost me nothing
I will go in Peace
To love and serve the Lord
Amen
