In a world of great wealth
Where many are hungry
Many persecuted
Guide us into your way of hope, justice and love
Song “Who you say I am”
Loving God, we are fragmented and conflicted,
We speak of liberation and oppress
We speak of peace and are violent
Help us to love and not hate
Especially in these dark days. Amen
We say the Lord’s Prayer in our own language
Psalm 47
God reigns over the nations;
God is seated on his holy throne.
9 The nobles of the nations assemble
as the people of the God of Abraham,
for the kings of the earth belong to God;
he is greatly exalted.
We pray for all those we know who need our help and prayers who we carry in our hearts today: for the families of those who died trying to reach the UK, people fleeing fires, war or flooding, for Ukrainian and Russian people, for Palestinians and Israelis, Sudan, Yemen, Hong Kong, China, Syria, Thailand, our own country, for those confronting injustice, and pressing issues of climate change, for those who are hungry, distraught, for the many refugees throughout the world, for those on strike, for the homeless, our families and friends and ourselves…Spirit of the Living God present with us now enter our bodies, minds and spirits
and heal us of all that harms us. Let your angels be beside us at this time. May we not fail you. Amen
Song “Be thou my vision”
This is the day that God has made
I will rejoice and be glad in it
I will not offer to God
Offerings that cost me nothing
I will go in Peace
To love and serve the Lord
Amen
