Reflection “Hope in darkness!”
The Christmas festival is symbolized by light, a light shining in darkness and the coming of hope. The story of the coming of Christ is a vehicle of hope to feed our spirits and our imaginations in dark times like now. We like the church throughout the world on this Advent Sunday, are waiting. It is a time of preparation.
Someone was coming who would begin to build the upside down kingdom and restore values to society. Truth into a society that had lost its way. He would turn people back to God. Hope into darkness!
How many of us have given up on hope? We have stopped praying for miracles, for healing both physical and emotional, for healing of broken painful relationships, for change. How many of us face difficult and hopeless situations at this Advent time? Situations that perhaps only you know of, and yet the message of God to us is one of hope whatever our situation.
Hope comes to us in unexpected ways, when we least expect it, in a dream, or in a moment of inspiration, through a friend, or even someone we dislike. God uses surprising people as a vehicle of hope. We may feel the presence of God suddenly, feel peace and strength and realize that God is with us in all things and especially in the difficulties we face.
For many of us we need to feel the brush of angels wings and the whisper of hope this Advent, this waiting time. God given hope is not optimism, or sentimentality, based on ignorance or naivite. It is based quite simply in a trust in God. The God who brings light into darkness, and speaks to us.
We are waiting and making preparation for this coming!

Reflexión "¡Esperanza en la oscuridad!"
La fiesta de Navidad está simbolizada por la luz, una luz que brilla en la oscuridad y la llegada de la esperanza. La historia de la venida de Cristo es un vehículo de esperanza para alimentar nuestro espíritu y nuestra imaginación en tiempos oscuros como ahora. Nos gusta la iglesia de todo el mundo en este domingo de Adviento, estamos esperando. Es un momento de preparación.
Se acercaba alguien que comenzaría a construir el reino patas arriba y restauraría los valores de la sociedad. Verdad en una sociedad que había perdido el rumbo. Volvería a la gente a Dios. ¡Esperanza en la oscuridad!
¿Cuántos de nosotros hemos perdido la esperanza? Hemos dejado de orar por milagros, por sanación tanto física como emocional, por sanación de relaciones dolorosas rotas, por cambio. ¿Cuántos de nosotros enfrentamos situaciones difíciles y desesperadas en este tiempo de Adviento? Situaciones que quizás solo usted conozca y, sin embargo, el mensaje de Dios para nosotros es de esperanza, sea cual sea nuestra situación.
La esperanza nos llega de formas inesperadas, cuando menos la esperamos, en un sueño o en un momento de inspiración, a través de un amigo o incluso de alguien que no nos agrada. Dios usa a la gente sorprendente como vehículo de esperanza. Podemos sentir la presencia de Dios de repente, sentir paz y fuerza y darnos cuenta de que Dios está con nosotros en todas las cosas y especialmente en las dificultades que enfrentamos.
Para muchos de nosotros necesitamos sentir el roce de las alas de los ángeles y el susurro de esperanza en este Adviento, en este tiempo de espera. El Dios que trae la luz a las tinieblas y nos habla.
