Prayers 20th September 2021

We stand against hunger

Against injustice

And we hope for a better world

Where everyone is housed

And fed

A world of abundance

Bless us in that journey

Song “Put peace into each others hands”

You entrusted the earth to us

And we have destroyed it

The forests are burning

Animals are dying

Our world is sic

Forgive us

Restore our vision and help us to act bravely to save this precious world

We say the Lord’s Prayer in our own language

Reading Psalm 50

The Mighty One, God, the Lord,
    speaks and summons the earth
from the rising of the sun to where it sets.
From Zion, perfect in beauty,
    God shines forth.
Our God comes
    and will not be silent;
a fire devours before him,
and around him a tempest rages.
He summons the heavens above,
and the earth, that he may judge his people:
“Gather to me this consecrated people,
who made a covenant with me by sacrifice.”
And the heavens proclaim his righteousness,
for he is a God of justice.

Our prayers

We pray for those with Covid, those in lockdown, for children and teaching staff, for doctors and health workers, for people who are isolated and exhausted, for wise decisions by governments, for the people of Belarus, Syria, Yemen and Hong Kong, for those affected by climate change and all those we know who need our help and prayers who we carry in our hearts today. Spirit of the Living God, Let your angels be beside us at this time and protect us. In Jesus Name we pray.

Song "Christ be in my waking"

In the depth of silence

No words are needed

We are just called to listen

To the movement of the Spirit

And in the midst of confusion

To hear your voice.

 Amen.
