A candle is lit.
I light a candle for light, sending
prayers high into the inky heavens and
dreams deep into our human soul.
We light a candle for light. May it light our way.
We say the Lord’s Prayer in our own language
Psalm 74
We do not see our emblems;
there is no longer any prophet,
and there is no one among us who knows how long.
10 How long, O God, is the foe to scoff?
Is the enemy to revile your name forever?
11 Why do you hold back your hand;
why do you keep your hand in[a] your bosom?
12 Yet God my King is from of old,
working salvation in the earth.
13 You divided the sea by your might;
you broke the heads of the dragons in the waters.
14 You crushed the heads of Leviathan;
you gave him as food for the creatures of the wilderness.
We pray for people and situations that are on our hearts today...
For peace in Ukraine and Gaza. For release of Israeli and Palestinian hostages. For Russia, Syria, Afghanistan, Iran, Sudan.
For the over a million refugees worldwide,
For people who are homeless, hungry, persecuted
For those who fight for the earth and for justice for its people
May we not fail you though we face great dangers.
When the star in the sky has gone
And the wise men have gone back to their homes
The real work of Christmas begins
To find the lost, heal the broken, feed the hungry and release the prisoner. Amen

Nous ne voyons pas nos emblèmes ;

L’ennemi va-t-il injurier votre nom pour toujours ?

pourquoi gardes-tu ta main dans ton sein ?
12 Pourtant, Dieu, mon Roi, est originaire des temps anciens,
œuvrer au salut sur la terre.

Nous prions pour les personnes et les situations qui nous tiennent à cœur aujourd'hui...
Pour la paix en Ukraine et à Gaza. Pour la libération des otages israéliens et palestiniens. Pour la Russie, la Syrie, l'Afghanistan, l'Iran, le Soudan.
Pour plus d'un million de réfugiés dans le monde,
Pour les personnes sans abri, affamées, persécutées
Pour ceux qui luttent pour la terre et pour la justice de ses habitants
Puissions-nous ne pas vous décevoir même si nous sommes confrontés à de grands dangers.
Quand l'étoile dans le ciel est partie
Et les sages sont rentrés chez eux
Le vrai travail de Noël commence
Pour retrouver les perdus, guérir ceux qui sont brisés, nourrir ceux qui ont faim et libérer le prisonnier. Amen

我們看不到我們的標誌；
