Prayers 4th July 2025,

  

 
For the light of the sun on my face
I humbly thank you
And offer my praise to you
Open my heart and my mind 
Give me your presence
In the centre of my being today

I call on the mercy of God
To meet me in my life and in my brokenness
God in our meeting 
God in our parting
Forgive us our closed minds
And break down the barricades of our hearts
So we can embrace new ways of being
 
We say the Lord’s Prayer in our own language
 
Reading Acts 9 ²³ After many days had gone by, there was a conspiracy among the Jews to kill him, ²⁴ but Saul learned of their plan.Day and night they kept close watch on the city gates in order to kill him. ²⁵ But his followers took him by night and lowered him in a basket through an opening in the wall.
 
We pray for all those we carry in our hearts.
We pray for Israel to stop killing Palestinians and for aid to get through without more deaths, for Israel, for the US, for Russia to stop bombing Ukraine, for the US to stop bombing Iran, for Israeli hostages and their families, for Russia, for Lebanon, Syria, Sudan, Afghanistan, Yemen, for Hong Kong; for work to halt climate change, refugees and asylum seekers, for the homeless, the hungry, the distressed. Spirit of the Living God be beside us at this time. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen

This is the day that God has made
