Evening Prayer 29th April 2020

In peace and in confusion
Jesus Christ is the Light of Life
He is the hope for the world

Song “Sing Hallelujah to the Lord”

Affirmation

Tell everyone who is anxious
Be strong and don’t be afraid
Jesus is the source of Life
He brings light to the world

The Lords Prayer in our own language

Reading Acts 3v6-9

Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. When all the people saw him walking and praising God, 10 they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

Intercessions

We pray for anyone we know who is ill or needing our prayers.
We pray tonight especially for people living on their own not able to talk to other people. We pray for all of us as we experience emotions of depression, anger and powerlessness because of the lockdown. Be with us we pray.

We pray for all who are anxious. Give them your peace and calm in their hearts. Have your hand upon us, our homes and our loved ones. Be with us all we pray this night and every night. In Jesus Name Amen.

Song “As the deer”

Blessing

The cross we shall take it
The joy we shall share it
The gospel we shall live it
The love we shall give it
The light we shall cherish it
The evil God shall perish it. Amen
