We believe in a living God
Who has created us and sustains us
Who has come in Jesus
To reconcile and make new
Who works in us by the Spirit
So that we should be his people
And has bent down to touch us

If you were disinterested
We would not come to you in prayer
But you have time to listen
We say the Lord’s Prayer in our own language
Reading Acts 9
39 Peter went with them, and when he arrived he was taken upstairs to the room. All the widows stood around him, crying and showing him the robes and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them. 40 Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up. 41 He took her by the hand and helped her to her feet. Then he called for the believers, especially the widows, and presented her to them alive. 42 This became known all over Joppa, and many people believed in the Lord. 43 Peter stayed in Joppa for some time with a tanner named Simon.
We pray for all those we carry in our hearts. We pray for peace in all countries with war including Gaza and Ukraine, for elections in many countries, for work to halt climate change, for the 100 million people who are refugees or asylum seekers, for the homeless, the hungry, the distressed. Spirit of the Living God be beside us at this time. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen
In the depth of silence
No words are needed
We are just called to listen
To the movement of the Spirit
And in the midst of confusion
To hear your voice. Amen
