Reading 1 Corinthians 5
6 Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough? 7 Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed.8 Therefore let’s celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Our Prayers
We pray for people and situations that are on our hearts today including the aftermath of the election in the US, the new vaccine for Covid, ongoing lockdown, those in schools and hospitals, Greece, Turkey, Belarus, Hong Kong, Syria, Nigeria and Yemen, Armenia and Azerbaijan, the rise of fascism across our world, our governments, the Rohinga Muslims, Muslims being persecuted in China, protection for key workers, protection for Black and Asian people, for people on low or no incomes, for those with underlying health conditions and those over 60, care for those who are alone and those suffering with depression, protection for asylum seekers and refugees and ensuring that food is reaching the vulnerable…and global warming.
May we not fail you though we face great dangers Give us your peace, your wisdom and your strength. Amen
