From light comes life.

Reading Isaiah 63 v7-9
I will make mention of the mercies of the Lord, and the praises of the Lord,
According to all that the Lord has granted us,
And the great goodness toward the house of Israel,
Which He has granted them according to His compassion
And according to the abundance of His mercies.
8 For He said, “Certainly they are My people,
Sons who will not deal falsely.”
So He became their Saviour.
9 In all their distress He was distressed,
And the angel of His presence saved them;
In His love and in His mercy He redeemed them,
And He lifted them and carried them all the days of old.
Our prayers
We pray this Advent time, a time of waiting, for peace, throughout the world, even a Covid world, where little children cannot sleep because of the sound of bombs falling, where people are imprisoned for protesting about the abuse of human rights, where temperatures soar because of climate change and forests burn, for the vulnerable in this Covid time and those sick and dying, for the homeless in their own country and those far from home, for asylum seekers and refugees the world over, and finally for our children and grandchildren who we must give a better future. In Jesus name we pray, Amen
Come Holy God
Send your Spirit
To make us brave
And show us what to do
To build your world
Of love and justice
And to care for the earth
You entrusted to us. Amen

Doa kami
Kita doakan masa Adven ini, masa penantian, masa damai, di seluruh dunia, bahkan dunia Covid, di mana anak-anak kecil tidak bisa tidur karena suara bom yang jatuh, di mana orang-orang dipenjara karena memprotes pelanggaran hak asasi manusia, di mana suhu melonjak karena perubahan iklim dan hutan terbakar, untuk yang rentan di masa Covid ini dan mereka yang sakit dan sekarat, untuk para tunawisma di negara mereka sendiri dan mereka yang jauh dari rumah, untuk pencari suaka dan pengungsi di seluruh dunia, dan akhirnya untuk anak-anak kita dan cucu yang harus kita beri masa depan yang lebih baik. صلاتنا
